2 User IDs-Is it not OK?

Hi friends,I was having an old user ID rahaa_in1 which I could not use then in baazee .I activated that but have not used it till today. I wanted to buy something and put a question to the seller.It didnt work or rather it refused to work.Ultimately I had to buy it with my present ID.What do I do?Keep it? Or request to deactivate it?I asked in the meet in Calcutta about this.The eBay team member said you dont bid on your own item with the other ID.What do I do with something which does not work?Please suggest something.Thanx..Truly..Amitava

You can have more than one ebay ID....thats not a problem.

You haven't followed the answer you got in Calcutta meet. They meant to say that you cannot bid on the Items of your second ebay ID. This is also know as shill bidding. To know more about shill bidding click ...

But you can always bid on other Seller's Items with your second ID.

If your second ID is not working then write to Customer Support for help ....if you want to keep it.

Yes, you can list your Items from both of your ID's.

But make sure that you don't violate any policy handling the two ID'S.

Hi,

You can list your products in both the IDs. Even the feedback score will be divided and I think only few people at ebay do this.

My advice is to use only single id for both buying and selling. As longer as you are honest, no problem at all.

Its all depend on how you can manage and your opinions. ---------------

You can have more than 1 selling id. Infact some sellers have 4-5. But it makes sense only if you are offering different kind of products on different ids. It does not amke sense to offer the same products on the different ids.

Like if you are selling gems on this id and tomorrow if you want to sell electronics, you may think of having a different id (store), since gems and electronics would not have any synergy.

Or say a seller who has both lingerie and childerns books / vcds. He cannot obviously sell the same on one id and would need to separate id to sell the same.

It is more like the offline market where even though Pantaloon and Big Bazaar are owned by the same company and both are into retailling but have different identities and different stores.

I THINK KEEPING A SINGLE ID IS MUCH MORE BENEFITIAL,THE RATING DO NOT GET DIVIDED,ALSO IT IS EASIER TO MANAGE 1 ID.I DO EVERYTHING FROM MY SINGLE ID ONLY.
SOME PEOPLE USE 2 IDS SUCH AS BUYING ID AND A SELLING ID BUT I DONT THINK SO THAT THAT CONCEPT REALLY HELPS.
