can i pay the seller through paypal invoice? or its a scam

I saw a bid and asked the seller for a deal and he is ok to go with the amount, but now the bid is going more than what we discussed. he told me he will send an invoice through paypal can i pay him through paypal invoice.  is it trustworthy i want to make sure this is not a scam
