eBay's Buyer Protection Program - Just a JOKE or Real !

My QSN : Is eBay really protect their buyers from fraud sellers ???

Hi !

I purchase many items using ebay during last few months. But in end of the Aug.08 I face bad seller (maxis786) and he send me wrong item. So, I done all above steps...

1. I contacted seller but I didn't get proper reply!

2. I contacted eBay support and they tell me to file a Dispute case and PaisaPay team said me to first confirm item bcs I received it! And than tell me to claim money from eBay using Dispute.

3. So, I confirm item delivery and I file a Dispute case on seller (05-Sep-2008) (Seller get money bcs I confirm item delivery using PaisaPay)

4. I send Item back to seller at my own cost.

5. Me and eBay try to solve but still seller not response ! So, on 25-Sep-2008 eBay close Dispute and take this case to Buyer Protection program.

6. I call ebay team and they tell me wait for 7-15days for ebay message for further process of this claim.

Now already 1 Month and 10 days pass (total 40 Days pass) but I never received a single email or phone call from ebay to solve this case !!! I also call 2 times to their help line number + chat with their support team for more than 5 times + send email BUT NOTHING !!!

Every time their chat and help line team reply that "there was some technical problem and we reply you within 3-4 days with details" BUT NO reply !!!

So, my qsn is that can I get my money from eBay ?

Is really ebay protect their buyer from fraud sellers ??? eBay still not stop this seller to stop selling on ebay ! Means ebay only support their seller and not to buyers !!!

Anybody get money from ebay using their Buyer Protection program ???

Waiting for eBay Community and eBay team reply...

Why did you confirm item received when the sent item was wrong.

You cannot blame the buyer in this case. There is a problem with ebay... It will not let you open a dispute unless you mark the item as received. Only after that can you open a "Item significantly different" dispute. After that if the buyer and seller does not resolve the issue, eBay will really not do anything.

If the payment has been made to the seller's account, then nothing will be done, regardless of the false confidence they show to the buyers.

Hi !

I think you both (seagate_dealer and rajelectroniks) did not read my given details !

First I am buyer not seller !

Second I only confirm item delivery bcs eBay PaisaPay staff tell to pay and than claim.

Also I think you didn't know about eBay buyer protection program ! (http://pages.ebay.in/securitycentre/buyer-protection.html) so, first check... Bcs as per program eBay provide upto Rs.50,000 Buyer Protection from fraud sellers.

And I only required this ... And my main qsn is if eBay didn't have time to reply or protect their buyer than Why offer this types of program ? Just say that they never protect buyers ...

I'd like to reiterate the fact that eBay has a very strong Buyer Protection Program which protects the buyers purchasing on our platform. We will ensure that we take all the necessary steps to help you get your money back.

I'm sure you would agree with me that before taking any decision we have to investigate the matter thoroughly as initiating a claim to you also means adverse consequences on the seller's account. This takes a couple of days.

Having said that, there is no denial of the fact that you tried all that you could to contact the seller and then trying to resolve the issue by opening a dispute to which the seller failed to respond.

I've escalated this matter to the concerned team and you will surely get a response.

Please rest assured that we are always there for our community members whether buyers or sellers and will always ensure that our platform is safe.

Again 5 days pass after your reply but Still NO update !!!

Can I know how much time ebay required to reply ? 60 Days ???

I send many emails to inrswebhelp-at-ebay.com but not a single reply !

Its really BAD for ebay buyers ! Bcs no one available at ebay to Protect buyers ...

I think now I must go for my credit card company for chargeback claim against this purchase.

customer message: Additional Information: I do have a complain on paypal about a store named autotuning Carparts-Online from ebay and paypal decided that I am elegible for a full refund once my report about buying something and receiving another does make sense. Paypal said YEAH YOU ARE RIGHT ON YOUR COMPLAIN. Congratulations to paypalยดs avaliation process. It was quick and accurate but worthless as I expected since the begining, a trully lie. Unfortunatelly this "protection program" is in this case "protecting" the criminal and not the victm because it does have a tricky mechanism that prevents against any seller penalties once that just only the victm have to pay for the sellers mistake. Please! Does it make any sense ? I had importing expenses about ###EUR that will not be refunded, and to receive my rights I will have to pay more ###EUR on shipping to send the product in perfect conditions to the seller? Paypay is saying that for receive ###EUR refund I will have to expense
more ###EUR on shipping (more than the refund value) ? It only can be a joke!

Thanks GOD I receive reply from eBay ! After 4months!!! WOW X-(

And now today (on 16th Nov.08) eBay team reply me and tell to send above details! I already tell eBay many times on email + on Phone Call + in claim itself that "I already return this item to seller" but still they ask this !

- Appraisal of the Received Item

The Appraisal must be based on an independent authenticator's physical inspection. Please take the item and a copy of the item listing to a store or neutral third party that specializes in the product and have
them determine the value and condition of the item. Have them write their response on store letterhead. We will also need the name and phone number of the person who does the evaluation for verification purposes.

I think eBay still like to take more 2-3 Months and then reply me for other details ๐Ÿ˜ฎ

TOOOOO BAD

I think its better that eBay NOT PROVIDE THIS PROTECTION PROGRAM to their buyers... Its all FAKE or just a TIME PASS for eBay.
