I felt quite miserable it's been 17 days and the shipment hasn't arrived. I got a Penn 760 Slammer fishing reel a little cheap and I regret it now. My fishing trip is scheduled within 3 days and the reel hasn't arrived. Just a suggestion if you are buying something from US it is not advisable using USPS unless you know you have some really shinning lucky stars up your head.
I called I don't know how many numbers, most of the numbers no one picks up and accidentally if some one does he/she claims it to be in Kolkatta and the other guy in Kolkatta says it's in Delhi. And in many cases when I feel some one has picked up [ringing stops] I can hear a sound which I can recall it was used during verification for connecting to Internet via telephone line with 56 Kbps modem [12 years back]. I haven't been irritated by any customs till now hope so I don't.I am just hoping it I just get it now without any fuss.
So just for the people who are new and had ask the shipment via USPS:
1. Keep calm. If you don't want to be in trouble don't order stuffs of more than 10,000 INR value.
2. There are mainly to Foreign Post Mumbai[place where your parcel will come first when it reaches India] [Takes care of West South],Delhi[mainly north]. There are foreign posts in Kolkatta [for East, North East], Chennai [South] the parcel only reaches them either from Mumbai or new Delhi.
3. I felt the Mumbai customs to be more decent in responses than Delhi.
4. Landed up calling 25 numbers I am just listing the ones that led me a little sigh of relief
for Mumbai 022 22611791 and New Delhi 011 23238917. You can try the other numbers people have placed on many websites I tried but I failed with 99% mostly people saying the number has shifted.
5. The toll nos never worked for me.
6. And lastly I'm being said call in this number after 2 days that is on 6th Dec Kolkatta 033-22481523.
