seller in question is hydstore. I bought a low value item from the seller, and promptly marked the item as received and left feedback as soon as i received the item. after that i waited for him to leave feedback, and even messaged him a couple of times (i am not going to waste STD call charges for feedback!). But no response!

Mr. Mehta you are very right when you say that, even I have had the same experience with many sellers on ebay. They don't even regard the fact that buyer is also a seller on ebay and when they have received their due in form of a +ve feedback the least that the seller can do is to reciprocate by a feedback.

@linus: the difference is that seller has a business to run & money to earn, whereas buyer can always go elsewhere! i am not saying the buyers who don't leave feedback and let the system handle the payout by not marking item received are doing the right thing. it is just that i agree with Mr. Raj that the seller is expected to promptly reciprocate a positive feedback once the buyer has been prompt from his side.
as regards receipt of item, there are equal number of sellers who will not do a prompt refund in case a deal goes sour. they will also let the system handle the refund, thereby holding up the buyer's money.
p.s.: i wonder how quickly the seller would have reciprocated had i left a neutral feedback, or how soon he would have rattled the doors of CC in case of negative feedback! wouldn't have needed me to remind him twice, for sure! -- Signature: I am Jack's complete lack of surprise.

I know I am responding to this very late. As I am not usually on discussion boards, couldn't see this. The positive feedback to us was left on Feb 13, 2010. I agree that the buyer expectation would be to get the same immediately. While I apologize for the inconvenience caused to buyer, I would like to gently remind that, leaving a feedback for a single transaction is easy as compared to leaving for multiple. So as a seller we will have many transactions, so we do this in batches. For the feedback received on Feb 13, 2010, the feedback was left on Feb 17, 2010. Its not a major delay but a delay is delay I agree. To counter this, we have now upgraded our store and got a feature to automatically leave a positive feedback when we receive the same. So we are no longer going to face this situation. We are open to feedback and will improve on whatever possible. Customer Satisfaction is of our highest priority and if something goes wrong, we are ready to fix it. Its all learning process.
