Import tax on open box handycam- USA to INDIA

I am planning to buy handycam worth Rs.25000 from USA seller who will ship item to India. The Item is new but in open box and not company sealed.

What would be import tax duty / customs on this item.

what is best way to buy such product.

As far as i know.it is safe to buy.Except you have to bare some money as tax/duty.For a handy cam priced 30000,it will be around 8000,i feel.If you have already done that,please update it here

I have bought iphones from uk for around 15-16k each and the max tax i had to pay was 1300 and the lowest was 370.
Basically all depends on the mood of the custom inspector.
I have had phones with the same marked price valued at different tax rates.
