GPRS / WAP settings for China Mobile Incl. i9+++

Hi,

Many users need GPRS / WAP settings for their China mobile purchased on ebay or other sources, so I thought I would start a thread here.

To use GPRS / WAP on your china mobile you need just two setting from your service provider:

1) Access Point Name (APN) and

2) I.P. address.

How to manually set up :-

I will use settings for Aircel wap - you can change it with any service provider.
WAP

***First Step***

1) Main Menu --> Select Services (This may be named variously as net, etc.)
2) Select Data Account - Select GPRS
3) Select the First Entry
4) Edit the account name to whatever you would like
5) Edit the APN to: aircelwap (your service provider settings)
6) Username - leave blank
7) Password - leave blank
8) Edit Auth Type - Normal (if needed)
9) Save

Select Back --> Select Back

***Second Step***

Select WAP
1) Select Settings --> Edit Profile
2) Select the first entry --> Edit Profile
3) Edit the name to whatever you would like
4) Edit Homepage to : http://myaircel.com (your service provider setting)
5) Edit Data Account to the Name you established in the First Setp.
6) Edit Connection type to HTTP
7) Change IP Address is 172.17.83.69 (your service provider address) and the port number is 8080
8) Edit Username to - Blank
9) Edit Password t0 - Blank

Select back or done
Select Activate Account

The above settings are for Aircel Pocket Internet. You just need two seeting APN, IP address and homepage to use it for your service provider.

I will give setting for Airtel here:

APN - airtelgprs.com
IP address - 202.056.231.117
Homepage - http://www.google.com

Request other members to provide settings for other service providers. I will keep updating with other service provider settings.

Hi,

We all have limited knowledge of these phones and we are trying to help each other.

If you go through the thread carefully, links to usb driver for the chinese phones have already been posted.

cyborg5021a has posted and extensive post regarding how to use the phone as modem and use internet on your laptop / pc via the phone.

I have not been able to get gprs working on the lephone. I would like some other user who has been able to use gprs to educate us.

There are some sellers who claim they have all the settings but they will not give them out of the boards, rather they offer them only to their buyers.

I bought a i9++ phone..

1. There is no option in calender. So am not able to mark any day for birthday

2. I tried to install application .it says insufficient memmor. I have 4 gb cards....also am storing the app in 4gb card only

3. there are some application exist in i9++ in the factory setting. But when i clik this it says intall first. How can install this icon

Hi,

It depends on the version of the i9, you have using. You can add notes. There may be an icon on the homepage (s) for notes.

There you can add a birthday, anniversaries as a note.

Try these setting for bsnl.

IP-192.168.87.163
PORT-8080
APN-celloneportal


Do not have a bsnl card so have not tried them myself. Let us know if they work.

Maybe your phone is faulty or you are trying do so something which is not in the phone functions.

There are a few videos on youtube on how to load applications on the i9, you my want to have a look at them.

I successfully used bsnl sim for GPRS.No IP address or port number is required just give APN as gprswest.celllone.in
But before that you have to follow the two step procedure given by Mr Paresh.
