500 GB Portable External HDD

Hi,

I am planning to buy 500 GB Portable External HDD which is USB powered. I would like to know which one is better in terms of quality, warranty etc..

I know few vendors who manufacture like Transcend, Western Digital, Seagate etc..

Can someone suggest or give an advise on this?

Transcemd is a good name in flash drives. WD is also good. Seagate does not make them as reliable as they used to. There are many others like Lacie, etc. which have also entered India. Lacie sells a lot in Europe. -- Signature: I am Jack's complete lack of surprise.
