Buyers Claim

Hi Guys

Recently I sold one item on eBay and the customer after receiving the item raised a claim that product is not working properly\broken. So I got email/SMS from eBay about the same. On talking to the customer, he honestly admired that the product is working fine but he no longer need it for some reason. I agreed to refund him back if he return the item. As per his words he returned the item and its in transit. Now I want to know, if I refund him the amount he paid, is there option on EBay to take back his claim. Or would I end up in a situation where I refunds the buyer and eBay still holds my money.
