Dear eBay Team,

Listing Revise need improvements-Could not correct mistakes in no. of items.

When an item is sold, if i try to edit the listing it does not allow me to change description, title, amount etc. That is fine and perfectly OK. But number of item is also non-editable. We understand that if we are allowed to increase number of items, people just add 1 after each sale and eBay loose fees, at least eBay should allow us to reduce the quantity, if we found error.

Let me explain one case.

For example i list item A , 3 quantity in beginning. One item sold and paid. So during shipping i check the stock and i have Item A only 1 left in stock,but in listing i have 2 by mistake. So basically if can correct the listing i can change and reduct number of items to 1 instead of 2 would be great. But at present eBay does not allow this, so that good chance to have mistake in listing and good risk of getting "Item not available after payment" kind of bad feedbacks.

I request other sellers to comment on this issue.

And eBay should allow us to edit and correct number of items error even after payment. At least allow us to reduce number of items.

you're sure you tried it correctly ?
As far as i know not only can i decrease the quantity , but also ebay allows me to increase the quantity
of course if there is a corresponding increase in fees
it is charged

Thanks for the reply. Did you try to edit sold item ? If item not sold and listing end time is more than 1 day it allow me to edit number of items. But if sold no matter what ever duration, shop view everything not allowed to change number of items. It is very inconvenient for a seller, if we notice mistake, we are forced to end the listing and relist again. It is really inconvenience. I hope some one from eBay team will explain this.

While revise listing, it is clear that we cannot reduce number of items if it is sold.

Please revise this policy and allow us to reduce the number of items. Some times we make mistake and we need to correct it. Other wise we are forced to end the listing and re list. Other wise we need to remember the number of items before relisting. So it would be great if we are allowed to reduce number of items even after sold. That will not make any impact on fees we pay for the listing.

I hope some one from eBay will read and respond to this post.

I do it on a regular basis
sometimes i list 3 items and if 2 sell immediately ,
I again increase the quantity to 3
also same way i can reduce the items too even after sold
thats the reason i replied to you
only after being sure ...
just wanted you to check out thoroughly if you are not missing something
and i hope ebay solves your problem at earliest anyways

I must say i use this only for shop inventory items
as usually they require updation in quantities either on plus or minus size
maybe what you are trying is on core listing
