Issues in verifying New Seller Account for Existing Sellers

Hello Ebay,

I would like to bring to your attention a bug in your system which causes inconvinience to us. I am trying to sell via my new id mumbaiemall. I am already a verified seller but inspite of providing all the same personal details i am again asked to verify my identity which is weird.

As i dont have any other option i tried using my credit card to verify my account. However since i use this card with mumbaistores id already it is not accepting the credit card and it is giving me errors. I have only one credit card.

I have two accounts on ebay already and i am using all my possible phone numbers for sms verification. Now i dont have any phone numbers to verify myself except for my credit card.

Verification by post they say takes 30 days. Now for someone who wants to sell isnt this too painfull a process. I would request you to kindly work and make this easier for us.

If you want i can send you my documents. Would you be able to verify me from backend to quicken the things.

My new id is Mumbaiemall. Awaiting your quick response.

Hello mumbaistores,

Glad to see you being so participative on the community boards :-).

From your post I understand that you already have 2 accounts for ehich you have used your telephone numbers and the credit card for verification and that you want to open another ID on eBay.in. I'm sure you would agree that opening an account and registering on our site to sell would not have been an issue at all when you had opened your initial accounts.

Being an ecommerce platform appropriate verifications are a must and hence we have established systems that they identify the members who try to open multiple accounts and bar them if they are not able to furnish proper details. We always encourage our members to concentrate their activities on a single account but we also understand that sellers open multiple accounts for various reasons.

I've escalated your issue to the concened team and they will surely look into this. We are glad to know that we have passionate members like you and would do our best to help you the in the best possible manner.

After 5 days of running from posts to customer service to emails and everything possible still i have not been able to verify my account.

What an irony. I tried phone verification twice as well and it doesnt work.

Indraneel do you have anything to say on this request.

7th Day account still not verified and active. I am kaing a daily counter now to see how inefficient ebay can be.

Alright i finally receive a reply from ebay and i hope it doesnt make you laugh after reading it. I certainly did. I am a verified seller still i need to wait now for 7 days to verify my new account. Pls read below ----------------------------------------------------------

First email from ebay:
Hello Neena,

This is Isabel. We spoke on the phone earlier.. Thank you for taking my
call.

I am glad that I am able to confirm from our phone conversation that you
were trying to set up your account for selling and that you are having
difficulty doing so.

This being said, I will be forwarding a copy of your email to the
appropriate department that will be able to help you set-up your account
for selling. You should be hearing from them very shortly.

I noticed that you did mention you are a "verified" member, however, I
could not confirm that email "mumbaiemall@yahoo.com" is a PayPal
verified account. I would like to include the following information for
your reference. This is regarding PayPal Verification, which is one of
the key requirements if you are planning to sell internationally

2nd email from Ebay:
Hello Neena,

Thank you for writing to eBay. I'm Suraj from eBay India team.

Neena, I understand you are concerned about verifying your account as a
seller.

As per your concern, I wish to inform you that there are various seller
verification modes available on eBay India like SMS, Credit Card,
Landline and Postal Mail. I checked our records and found that your
account has yet not been verified as a seller.

Also, I see that there is an incomplete listing on your account and to
upload the same, all you need to do is complete the seller verification
through the below link:

Once you complete the verification, you will be able to upload the items
on the site without any issues.

If my email failed to address your concern or if you feel the
information is inadequate, please do let me know and I assure you quick
and better resolution.

My reply to ebay:
Hi Suraj,
1) Yes your email didnt address my point at all. I am using my credit
card for verification but it says this is already been used by other
ebay id. I have mumbaistores id on ebay as well where i often use this
credit card and i am already a verified person.
2) Similarly since i have already used my mobile for verification before
it is not allowing me to verify again.
If you clearly understant my concern pls be kind enough to provide
enough help and ways to resolve this. I am already a verified user on my
id mumbaistores

3rd Email from Ebay:
Dear Neena,

Thank you for writing eBay in regard to your account.

You have received an Unable to Process error because according to our
records, the credit card in question was on file on your mumbaistores
account when it was suspended, placing a hold on the card.

Though this account has been reinstated, it takes about 24 hours for the
system to reset and allow use of the credit card. You should now be able
to use the card. Please let us know if you have any further problems.

My reply again to ebay:
I feel sad to know that i still cant verify my account due to your
systems. It states that i have already exceeded my number of tries. How
can i now verify myself. If you want i can fax you my documents or send
it over via email. Pls work to resolve this issue instead of sending
emails which is purely automated and not helping me out.

Ebay's final email to me
Dear Neena,

Thank you for your reply.

I apologize for the confusion in this matter. When you receive a
message informing you that "you have exceeded the maximum number of
attempts allowed" this means you have tried unsuccessfully to enter your
credit card information too many times. This "maximum number of
attempts" feature is a security measure designed to prevent an
unauthorized person from guessing your account information.

At this point, you will need to wait 7 days from the last time you
received this error message before you try to place any financial
information on file again. Our records indicate that your last attempt
was Jun-18-08 12:14:26 PDT.

Attempting to update your financial information before the close of
these full 7 days will simply reset the 7 day waiting period. If you
experience additional problems after the close of these 7 days, please
let us know.

My problem wasnt that i had tried entering my account too many times.. My problem was that i had used a credit card which is mapped in ebay's system to my mumbaistores id. Hence it wasnt accepting my credit card on mumbaiemall id.

Now after waiting for 7 days it will again be the same. A vicious circle of inefficiency and automated responses.

Friends hope you all are enjoying this trouble which i am going through for no fault of mine. Ebay is neither bothered as well

Im also facing same problem of veriying my account via sms.
I m very new to ebay..just before 3-4 month i created a id and start selling my items then after few days my account was suspended..
and then i recived 3-4 calls from ebay to sell internationalyy..
Now i have verified Paypal account but not able to sell anything..

I m totally frustrated from Your support and way of working..
You can make 3-4 calls ,you can suspend someones account..you can keep watch on someones activity..cant you warn someone if he is breaking rules...
Unknowingly i had broken some ebay rule....i dont know how to trust you people after facing lots of problem

Hi,
It is difficult to maintain multiple IDs as seller. My other ID was suspended. Navin Mistry helped me to recover that. I have stopped selling with that ID.

Yes I am being asked to verify my act daily, spoke with ebay human, she said she would correct error in system.
Has not. Still being asked ?????????
