what is the advantage of buying items from ebay and is the product i mean jewellery of real gold.how do u check the pureness???????

It is good know about the tools available & appreciate the effort of Ebay in this regard.

I have a concern regarding shipment charges :

The shipment charges are exorbident for small items & are not consistant. I suggest Ebay to do a diligence of this aspect or atleast issue guidances to sellers.

It makes no sense to buy items, of say Rs.150 & pay a shipment charge of Rs.100.

eBay has certain policies to ensure a healthy marketplace is maintained. One of these policies is Excessive Shipping / Handling

A user is said to violate this policy when This the seller charges extremely high/ unrealistic shipping charges in comparison to the product cost.

Lets start with Features.

Features help increase your listing as compared to regular listings. They help you stand out amongst thousands of other listings on Category and search pages. Your chances of sales are 5 times higher than that of regular listings.

Features can be broadly classified into four categories, namely

Exposure
Selling Aid
Differentiating
Enhancing

Depending on your products and categories you can choose to use different features to get more exposure, differentiate your products or enhance your listings.

Lets look at Enhancing first.

If you are looking at enhancing your listing you can use any of the following features that enhance your listing and attract more buyers to view your listing.

Sub Title
A subtitle provides additional information on your listing about the item that appears along with the item title on the listings page. A good subtitle can differentiate your item from similar items listed by other sellers.

Gallery
Gallery displays your listing with an image of the item appearing as a thumb nail next to the Title on the search results and category pages.


Picture Services
Allows you to show your buyers full-size, detailed pictures, while still providing fast download times. Supersize pictures display at sizes up to 800w x 800h pixels (800 pixels on the longest side).

Picture Show lets buyers view full-sized pictures in a separate Picture Viewer window by clicking the Preview size picture.

If you are looking at differentiating your listings from other products on the site you can do that by using the Bold, Border or Highlight feature.

Bold
Bold ensures that your listing title appears in Bold type, making it stand out from other listings in the browse and search results.

Border
This feature surrounds your listing with coloured border to showcase it and helps differentiate from non border listings.

Highlight
The highlight is a very useful tool to make your listing stand out from the crowd. This feature showcases your listing with a coloured background in the Listing View.

With the above features your listings stand out amongst other listings on the site and attract a buyers attention.

To get more exposure on eBay you should use one of the following features that help promote your listings for a longer durationand on more locations on the site.

10 Day listing
A 10 day listing increases the chance of visits to your listings by 30% as compared to a regular 7 day listing and thereby increase the chances of selling the item.

List in 2 Categories
Listing in a second category displays your items to more buyers thus giving you exposure and generating more interest to buy your products.

International Listing
With an international shipping option your item will be visible in the search listings that are displayed on the eBay sites across the world where you choose to ship them.

Home Page Featured / Featured Plus
With homepage listing, your listing has a chance to appear on the home page of eBay.in. In addition your item will also appear on the Home Page Featured Items section.

Gallery Featured
Gallery Featured listing prioritises your listing in the Gallery View. Once a buyer clicks to see what's on offer in the Gallery View the Gallery Featured listing appear on top on the landing page. Also the images appear in large size as compared to a regular listing in Gallery View.

The following features will act as a selling aid and help increase your chances of sales on the site.

Buy It Now
The Buy It Now Auction feature allows the buyer to buy the product immediately without waiting for the bid to end and can be used by sellers to make their sales faster.

Listing Designer
Listing Designer improves the visual appeal and effectiveness of your listing by adding attractive themes and layouts. The Listing Designer helps you create the right ambience and background for your listing.

Scheduled Listing
Scheduled Listing gives you the flexibility to make your listing go live at a later date and time up to 3 weeks in advance (at max. 3000 listings). This would help you control the start date and time for the listings.
