what is the PRE process to sell on Ebay

Hi ,
Iam new 2 Ebay.
I would like to sell some products on ebay,but i dont know where to start from.Do i need to register as retail business .
What r the legal issues like permits,business ID registrations ect tobe completed before registering with Ebay.

Thank you for posting on our community boards and a warm welcome from everyone of us here :-).

To be able to buy and sell on eBay, you need to first be a registered user. To register:

1. Click the "register" link at the top of any eBay page.
2. Enter your name, address and contact details.
3. Choose a user ID and password.
4. Select the check box for the eBay User Agreement.
5. Click the Register button.

You will receive a confirmation email at the email
address you provided. Click the link in the email to
complete the registration process and begin trading
on eBay.

Once you are done with registering yourself on eBay and have a user ID you will then need to get your ID verified for selling on eBay in the below manner:

1. Click 'Sell' on the top of any of the eBay pages.
2. Click the 'Start a new listing' tab.
3. Sign into your eBay account.
4. You will then be asked to verify your identity.

You can verify your identity through:

1. SMS (Immediate)
   
2. Landline telephone (Immediate, for Indian residents only)
   
3. Credit card (Immediate)
   
4. Postal mail (requires minimum 30 days)
   

Theer are no other formalities required to be able to become a seller on eBay. Once you have completed the above steps you are eligible to sell on our platform across any global eBay sites. The only point to be noted here is that your items should not fall under the Restricted and Prohibited list of items.
