Set a Maximum retails price for all items

Hi ,
While shopping on eBay, I always observe that many a times certain products that are the identical dont have the same Selling Price. This difference in Selling price is not a small difference but varies from a difference of 200 - 300 rupees. Thus making it very difficult to decide which one to buy. I think this can be avoided if eBay can set a maximum retail price for some of their products so that sellers dont quote a very high price for their item when you can actually get it at half the price outside or from some other site.
Thanks

The price difference is there because it depends on sourcing of the product by the seller so you cannot have a uniform price with all sellers. Sellers with large a inventory are bound to have a better price as compared to some small sellers.

Also ebay is a platform to make things available to buyers who do not have access to markets like Delhi or Mumbai, so if anyone finds better pricing in the local market or other sites one must purchase it from there.

If EBay sets a maximum retail price for a product, wont there still be difference in the prices. The pricing totally depends on the purchase price, courier charges, etc. Its an open market and the customer is smart enough to buy from the best seller. Incase of any issues, the buyer is always covered under Ebay Guarantee.

Dear Magic In The Air

have you heard of all your friends buying any particular item from a particular shop in your city. I know the answer will be NO. Its because its not necessary that all your friends will be comfortable in buying from that particular shop because of the distance between their residence and the shop. Another factor is TIME.

Similarly a seller has so many factors which involves in his whole activity of trading. Like Source of these items, Availability, Trasport and Courior. Some may also offer Insurance. Its more for a seller to keet himself in safe side.

DUe to all this the price difference is there.

You might have observed in your local Vegetable Bazar and Fish Bazar. THE PRICE DIFFERENCE.
