Basis certain queries we are putting down a complete document on the various types of

Feature Fees, their usage, eligibility and importance.

Regular Listings
As a registered user of Ebay.in you can list items for selling on the site. It is advised

that you list an item along with the photograph of the same so that buyers can see and get

an idea on what the product is before making the purchase. You can list an item even without

the photograph. Once you have listed an item it will appear as part of the Listings page

under the specified category/sub category that you choose while listing your item. There are

no charges for a regular listing of an item on the site (except for International Listing,

Listing under Services & Real Estate and Items listed under Auction and Reserve Price

format.)

Feature Fees

There are thousands of listings on the eBay site on a daily basis and it is recommended that

you use certain features to promote your listing which will help to differentiate your

listing as compared a regular non FF listing. There are various options of Feature Fees (FF)

which you can use depending on the type of seller you are. Feature Fees can be broadly

classified in 4 buckets as under

1. Enhancing: Features helping Sellers communicate more about their item viz.

Gallery, Subtitle, eBay Picture Services

2. Differentiating: Features making listings stand out in Search & Listings viz.

Bold, Border, Highlight

3. Exposure: Features obtaining better placement, more impressions for listings viz.

Featured Plus, Gallery Featured, Home Page Featured, List in Two Categories (L2C), 10-Day

Duration, {Extended Duration}

4. Selling Aids: Features creating a more compelling listing viz. Auction BIN,

Reserve Price, Listing Designer, Scheduled Listings

With Feature Fees (FF) the probability of your listing succeeding increases by 300% and

get 900% more Bids as compared to a regular listing.

Enhancing Feature

Gallery Listings - Gallery listings appear in search and browse results and let

buyers see what’s being offered without another click. As compared to a regular listing a

gallery listing lets you list with the image of the item appearing as a thumb nail next to

the Title description of your item.

How to choose Gallery in your listing - Ensure that you click on Gallery option when filling

the Item and Picture details on the sell form. Currently there are no charges for a Gallery

listing

Subtitle - A subtitle on your listing lets you provide additional information about

the item that may catch a buyer's eye. As you are aware the item title has a restriction of

55 characters. A good subtitle can differentiate your item from similar items listed by

other sellers, and can increase a potential buyer's interest and aid the decision making

process.

How to choose Subtitle in your listing – While making your listing add the description of

your item in Subtitle field.

eBay Picture Services

Pictures are very effective in selling your item and lets your buyers have a detailed look

at your product. You can have 3 pictures for a regular listing eBay offers you a lot of

Picture Service options to increase the impact through more pictures, larger sizes, slide

shows viz.

Additional Pictures – You can add 3 more pictures per listing & thereby have 6

pictures for your listing. Each additional picture is now available to you at Rs.1 / picture
Super Size Pictures – allows you to show your buyers full-size, detailed pictures,

while still providing fast download times. Supersize pictures display at sizes up to 800w x

800h pixels (800 pixels on the longest side). Super Size picture cost you Rs.10 / listing

Picture Show - When you select Picture Show, your pictures are sized automatically

to Preview Picture size. When combined with Supersize, Picture Show lets buyers view

full-sized pictures in a separate Picture Viewer window by clicking the Preview size

picture. Picture show is now available at Rs.3 / listing
Note: Picture show requires adding at least two pictures.

Picture Pack - Picture Pack is an option which combines the above 3 picture

services viz. Additional Pictures, Super Size, Picture Show and Gallery. Picture Pack is

available to you in 2 options

Pic Pack for Rs.12 which combines (6 pictures/super size/picture show/gallery) as against

Rs.16 (a saving of Rs.4 / listing)

Pic Pack for Rs.18 which combines (12 pictures/super size/picture show/gallery) as against

Rs.22 (a saving of Rs.4 / listing)

How to choose Picture Services in your listing – While making your listing you can choose

from:

Standard - Standard pictures will appear within a 400 x 400 pixel area.


Supersize Pictures (Rs. 10.00) - Extra large pictures will appear within a 500- by 500-

pixel area, or up to 800- by 800- pixel area, if your pictures are larger.

Picture Show (Rs. 3.00) - Multiple pictures will appear in a slideshow player at the top of

the item page.

Picture Pack (Rs. 12.00 for up to 6 pictures or Rs. 18.00 for 7 to 12 pictures) - Get

Gallery, Supersize, Picture Show and additional pictures for maximum exposure. Listings

with Picture Pack have 300% more visits as compared to a regular listing.

Differentiating Feature Options
• BOLD
Feature & Benefits - Bold ensures that your listing title appears in Bold type, making it

stand out from other listings in the browse and search results.

Exposure Feature Options


Home Page Listing

Feature & Benefit – Your listing has a chance to rotate on the Ebay.in home page. Your

listing will appear on the home page of Ebay.in. In addition your item will also appear on

the Home Page Featured Items section which is a separate section of all items featured on

the Home Page. Your Listing rotates on the Home Page of Ebay.in

Eligibility –Home Page feature listing can be used by any registered seller who has a

minimum feedback score of 10.

Listing with Home Page have a chance of selling 20 times more as compared to regular listing


Featured Plus Listing

Feature & Benefit – The featured plus listing feature prioritizes your listing in the List

view. Once a buyer clicks on a category page for the item he is looking to buy, “Featured

Plus” listing appear on the top of the list view (default view) page.

Eligibility –Featured plus listing can be used by any registered seller who has a minimum

feedback score of 10.

Once a user clicks on category he lands on the “List View” page and Featured plus listing

appear on top of the landing page. If there are more than one featured plus listing the

priority is determined by closing time of the listing. Besides this your listing rotates on

the feature section of the category landing page.

How does Feature Plus work in Search Option

Once a buyer searches for an item through search option the list of available items can be

arranged in either order of ending duration, price or any other way depending on way the

buyer wants to sort them. However after each sorting the Feature Plus listings will always

appear on top.

Gallery Featured Listing

Feature & Benefit – Gallery Featured listing prioritises your listing in the Gallery View.

Once a buyer clicks to see whats on offer in the Gallery View the Gallery Featured listing

appear on top on the landing page. Also the images appear in large size as compared to a

regular listing in Gallery View. The exact position of your listing at the top of the

gallery view page depends on the timing of your listing and the number of other Gallery

featured items at that point of time. Your listing will appear bigger than other listing.

Home Page + Home Page featured section = ONLY Home Page Listing

List View (default view when buyer clicks category) = Featured Plus Listing (on top)

Gallery View (when buyer clicks on Gallery View link on List View page) = Gallery

Featured Listings (on top), Followed by Regular and Gallery Listing

10 – Day Listing

Feature & Benefits – The standard listing duration on Ebay.in site are valid for 3/5/7 days.

You can extend the duration of your listing up to 10 days by using this feature. The longer

your listing runs the greater are your chances of your listing getting sold and being bought

by the right buyer.

Listing in 2 Categories

By choosing this option you can list an item in 2 categories and thereby increase the

chances of visits / buyers to your product. Many a time buyers tend to search for items with

a similar category name. For example: A Stars Wars Figure could fit in both the Toys and

Collectibles categories.

• Scheduled Listings

Feature & Benefits – This feature gives flexibility to a seller to make the listing go live

at a later date and time up to 3 weeks in advance (at max. 3000 listings). This would help a

seller get convenience and control on the start date and time for the listings.


• Buy It Now Auction Feature
Feature & Benefits – The Buy It Now Auction feature allows the buyer to buy the product

immediately without waiting for the bid to end and can be used by sellers to make their

sales faster. For an auction format listing with Buy It Now feature enables the buyer to buy

the product instantly or place a bid. Once a bid is placed on the product the Buy It Now

feature is not applicable.

• Reserve Price
Setting a reserve price lets you start the bidding at a price lower than you would be

willing to sell for. Research conducted by eBay indicates that using the reserve price

feature can be detrimental to the performance of your listings.
Instead of setting a hidden reserve price, try using the starting price of your item as your

reserve price. This way, you'll still receive the minimum you are prepared to accept and the

eBay market place will determine the worth of the item.

What can you expect from using FF’s

Let us set the expectation of using a Feature Fees. The fundamental benefit of using FF’s is

that you get

•More visits to your listing as compared to a regular listing

The other benefits are derived from the above and are dependent on a number of factors viz.

Product
Price
Past Buyer Experience
Closing sale after purchase
Payment options
Transport
Etc.etc.

Now let us talk about the certain guidelines that you can follow while selecting FF’s while

making your listing

Guidelines for using Feature Fees

New Seller

As a new seller you need to communicate a lot more about your product so that buyers can get

as many details as possible before making the purchase decision. Another key suggestion is

that Auction listings tend to succeed better than a fixed price listing. So try to list in

Auctions and use a set of FF’s for better results. The key needs for a new seller listing an

item on site for sale are viz.

•Give more details about your product
•Give more pictures
•Extend the duration of your listing as the options to prioritise your listing is limited

(Feature Plus and Home Page are available only to sellers with minimum ratings of 10)
•Use the available designing tools to make your listing stand out
•Use selling aid to fasten the sale

In view of the above objectives you could try out any of the following options of Feature

Fees

•Use subtitle to give more details about your product
•Take additional pictures / use Super Size pictures. You could also enhance the visual

effect with the use of Picture Pack through which you can save upto 25% per listing and get

a combination of picture services.
•Use 10 day listing so that your listing has a 30% more chance of being visible on the site
•You may try to use Bold / Border / Highlight either individually or a combination suiting

your budget to differentiate your listing from other listings
•You can use Listing designer templates (available free) to make your listing visually

appealing. Even BIN is an option to speed up the decision making process

DONTS

•Resist from using Reserve Price in Auction formats as it tends to deter buyers.


Existing Seller

As an existing seller you have a certain vintage about your self on the site and past

experience of selling on the site. The key needs for a listing of an existing seller could

be

•Use the opportunities available to make your listing get better exposure.
•Get the priority for your listing and thereby get more visits to your listing
•Look at a larger audience base for selling your product. International buyers look for

products from experience sellers and do look at ratings/ power sellers before making the

purchase decision
•Use differentiating features to make your listing visually appealing

In view of the above objectives you could try out any of the following options of Feature

Fees

•Try Home Page Feature to get your listing on the home page of eBay.in
•You could also try Feature Plus which prioritises your listing when buyer click on the

category page. Even in the search option the featured plus listing come on top of the non

featured items
•If you selling an item which needs good visuals then you may opt for Gallery feature which

prioritises your listing in the Gallery view and gives a large size image
•With use of International listing option you can expand your buyer set
•If you are selling regular items you can use the Picture Manager service which allows you

to store pictures on the site and use them in your listings as and when needed. You can even

watermark the pictures with your user id and mark your pictures
•In addition to above you can try using any of the options available to differentiate your

listing viz. Bold / Border / Highlight


What are suitable combinations of FF’s that can be used

While selecting FF’s you need to keep in mind the 4 types of FF’s and ensure that you select

a mix from the 4 types and to have better chance of success. Remember that each of the 4

type has a different benefit and is designed to meet different needs.

How do I evaluate the investment in FF’s

The parameters to be kept in mind while evaluating your investment decision.

•Evaluate your investment basis success of your listing. Success again depends on the item you are selling / price / formats / experience
•Evaluate your investment basis the price and quantity of item you are selling. This can have a direct impact on the Gross Merchandise Sales that you generate
•Evaluate your investment basis the completed sale % that you have had as a seller on the site
•Evaluate your investment basis the profit margin that you intend to make by selling the items

Feature Fees are a set of options that you can use to promote your listing on the site. It is not a category or a product. In the Baazee days they were called as Enhanced Listings. Under the eBay platform they are called Feature Fees where you have more options and more flexibility with the features. I hope i have answered your question. Sorry, I could not understood regarding this session before because i am first time in like this session and failed to find that what is happening.

As u told that there are no charges for a regular listing of an item on the site (except for International Listing,) I want to know what is the charges for international listing and up to what time i.e. No.of days this listing will be exists on the ebay site. and one more thing, if i opt for international listing, will all the other contry ebay user can see my listing on the basis of the keyword which i choose ? Please clearify me.

is Auction BIN, is some thing like action stores on baazzee.com and Reserve Price is some thing like Reserve price for product which is being auction. But I could not able to understand Listing Designer, Scheduled Listings. What is it ?

Let me answer your question in 2 parts.

International Listing costs Rs.15 / listing (as per the current charges). You can choose to make your listing international by agreeing to ship worldwide while making your listing in the Sell Form. Depending on where you choose to ship your product (from the options available in Sell Form) the listing will show up on the eBay sites of those countries. If you choose to ship across world wide the listing shows on all eBay sites. So its all up to you

Duration - this is entirely dependent on the listing duartion that you choose while fillin the sell form. The default duration options are 1/3/5/7 & 10 days. If you select duration as 10 days then there is an extra charge of Rs.25/listing.

Hi Mr. Rajesh
The default duration options are 1/3/5/7 & 10 days. If you select duration as 10 days then there is an extra charge of Rs.25/listing but if we sellect listing duration as 7 days or 5 days, will this Rs. 25 will be charged in such case as well or not. Is it our choice to sellect 1-3-5-7 or 10 days ? Is there any difference in the price ( Charges ) for different duration listing in

I am not really clear on the first part of your question. Could you be more specific on what you want to know.

Coming to 2nd part

Listing Designer are essentially templates designed to make your listing visually appealing. You can select a theme and preview the design and you can see how your listing will appear to buyers. This option is availble in item and details page of the sell form. In my post i have given the link to Listing Designer. Request you to check the same

Scheduled Listings - You can plan your listing to go live on the site at a later date. This is more useful if you are planning to sell items in bulk and are having a stock out situation currently. You can schedule your listing for a date when you are expecting the stocks to arrive.
