Hello,
I have been using Postal Airmail extensively. You have six category in that.
1. Airmail Letter --> You can close and seal the pocket, tou have to pay full Airmail charges + registration charges if apply.Incase case of suspected goods found in the customs, your letter will come back to you. Upto 2 KGS limit per pack. Each unit counts when every 10 grams in addition. Dimension i dont know.
2. Small Pocket Air --> You cannot close the parcel. You can use cotton threads to tie the pack or parcel. But 40% cheaper than Airmail. Max weight is upto 2kgs. They count every 20 grams. Separate charges for the registration. It is unsafe and if the post man is not honest, you will miss items.
3. Printed materials -> This is very special category and lowest among the airmail. This is for magazines and books, or other printed journals. You cannot close this aswell. 75 % cheaper than Airmail.
4. SAL (Surface Air) --> From one country to another country first it goes by air, for example from Delhi to NewYork it goes by Air, after reaching NewYork, it will travel via road to the destination. It may take 4-5 days extra time than Airmail. But you save 50% Airmail charges, but you can completely seal your pocket and safe. Limit upto 2 kgs.
5. Parcel Air.--> If 2 kgs and above you can use this option. First kg one rate and each 1/2 KG added further. Cheaper to send bulk items more than 2 KG. Can close the parcel and always get registered for free. If you need aknoledgment from addresee, you have pay extra for the card.

But many europian countries offers this facility.
With my 10 months experience in ebay, i have used Postal services, i can say 99.99% safer when you register a shipment. If you dont register the shipment 0.0009% safe i can say, it almost never reaches destination. Also dont use small pocket air(open parcel), if you send 2 T-Shirts, the customer will receive only one. Better to use SAL Air or Airmail and registration is must.
