hello everyone. i bought a laptop battery from a seller based on china, its price was $45.98 and he sent it via sweden post. i don't know if it was marked as a gift or not, nor do i know anything about the customs duty or how to pay it. but i had to buy it because the battery is not available in india, and i needed it urgently for my studies.
i am from odisha, india, and there are no customs office in my city(jajpur town, nearest city is bhubaneswar). so how does it actually work? do they sent it via the local post office and i have to pay the postman the custom duties while receiving the item? i am asking this because the customs office is not in my city, nor in any of the nearest cities.
or the customs will call me before sending the item through a local post(indian registered post)? i hope i won't have to go to their office...
