Hi I bought a Samsung phone on Ebay - Samsung Galaxy Grand Duos i9082. When I received it - it was in a sealed box but there was no proper invoice with the tax numbers (legal requirement in India) on it from the seller. I just received a "invoice" from the seller with his contact details and IMEI bar code. The brand new "handset" had 02 sim cards also inside - which the seller told me to destroy as he said that before dispatching his engineers check the handsets with the simcards and nothing to worry. I again contacted the seller for a tax number and proper bill with tax registration - he said he will send the bill with tax registation but i did not receive anything for about a month. Then I contacted e-bay customer care a couple of times for over 6 months (from 29th Sept 14 till 3rd July 15) despite my busy work schedule and travel- over email / phone - I have the reference numbers of all our interactions but till date they havent been able to resolve this issue. Everytime they say someone from our team will call you within 48 hours. They ask me to repeat the problem faced again and again. And there will be no one calling after all that! I live in a different city from the seller and took the phone to a Samsung certified dealer in my city - and they say this phone sold on ebay is not genuine! I even called this seller from the Samsung dealer's store and he mumbled something and when I told him I;m at the Samsung store and they say this is fake - he cut my call. I have been cheated of my money! I never expected companies like ebay to sell fraud products and have and encourage phony sellers? How do I go forward? Any suggestions? There is no response from the seller or ebay?
Legal action through consumer court - is the last resort but any other suggestions?
